WASHINGTON, DC - The Latino Coalition (TLC), the leading national non-partisan advocacy organization representing Hispanic businesses and consumers, is excited to announce its partnership with LATINOS In Procurement, a new, national nonprofit, whose vision is “To increase the number of Latino Chief Procurement Officers at public, private, and nonprofit organizations in the U.S.”As part of the partnership, on Tuesday, March 5th, 2024, The Latino Coalition hosted the 2024 LATINOS In Procurement Summit in Washington, DC, to officially launch LATINOS In Procurement.

“We witnessed an exciting launch of LATINOS In Procurement, which will help experienced Latino procurement professionals advance their careers and elevate their talents into strong leadership roles,” said Jeanette Hernandez Prenger, TLC Chairwoman, and Founder & CEO of Ecco Select. She added, “I am very excited to see how this program will not only elevate Latino professionals but also support increased spend with diverse suppliers.”
According to the Billion Dollar Roundtable, there are 39 companies who commit to documented supply chain spend of $1 billion or more annually on a first-tier basis with diverse suppliers as a condition of membership. Procurement spend is vital to Latino small businesses, particularly in their first few years in business. The Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility’s (HACR) 2023 Corporate Inclusion Index reports that of the 92 companies who participated in their annual survey, the average spend with Hispanic suppliers was 1 percent.
“LATINOS In Procurement is pleased to partner with The Latino Coalition and work together towards common goals and objectives in the procurement sector,” stated Carlos F. Orta, Founder & Board Chair, LATINOS In Procurement.
